I was cast in this...we'll be performing in April at Venue 9.

It's a Brecht's retelling of Join of Arc, set in the meatpacking (I just met her!) district of Chicago of the '30s.

...any word on "A Clockwork Orange"?

My latest theatrical extravaganza, Bertolt Brecht's "St. Joan of the Stockyards," opens this weekend.

"Bertolt Brecht's wickedly funny, politically challenging play [read: big words, big concepts] takes the legendary story of Joan of Ark and turns it on its head. Joan d'Ark is now Joan Dark, a visionary in a Salvation Army-like troupe, who battles the Chicago meat-king, Pierpont Mauler, to save her poor workers from his exploitations. However, like the Joan of history, she is quickly betrayed by those she tries to help. 'St. Joan of the Stockyards' is an entertaining, yet scathing deconstruction of capitalism and religion, and how they are often one in the same."

This rarely produced play is provactive and intriguing. It explores many issues that are desparately relevant to today's heating political and social climate. And fart jokes abound.

VENUE 9 is located at 252 Ninth St. (at Folsom)

OPENING NIGHT is Saturday, April 3rd. If you attend this Saturday, I'll take you to the opening-night party, where's there's sure to be free booze and underaged naked girls on ecstasy.

The show runs Friday and Saturday 8:00pm and Sunday 2:00pm throughout April.

    Meat-themed attire highly encouraged.

Tickets are $18 at the door or $15 in advance at www.ticketweb.com (Keyword "Stockyards")
